Teddy Bear (Crochet Version)

You can get the pattern from this site ThePattern is easy to follow. You will need a size H/8/5mm crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge. Tapestry Needle. Polyester fiberfill. This pattern is for Intermediate crocheters or Knitters. Knit version to follow on another post.
Finished Size: 9 1/2 inches tall.
Gauge: With 1 strand of brown and 1 strand of light brown held toge: 5 sts= 1nch;4 rows=1 inches.
Pattern Notes: Weave in ends as work progresses. Note Bear is made in 1 piece.
Row 1 (RS): Starting at end of ar, with 1 strand of brown and light brown held tog, ch 3,2 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 2 sc in next sc, turn (4 sc).
Row 2: ch 1, 2 sc in firs sc, sc in each of next 2 sc, 2 sc in last sc. turn (6 sc).
Row 3: ch 1, sc in each sc across. turn.
Rows 4-6: Rep row 3.Row 7:Ch 13, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each of next 11 chs, sc in each next 6 sc. turn (18 sc).
Row 8: Ch 1, sc in each sc across to last scm 2 sc in las sc, turn. (19 sc)
Row 9: Ch 1, 2 sc in first sc, sc in each rem sc across, turn (20 sc)
Row 10: Ch 10, sc in end ch from hook, sc in each of next 8 sc, sc in each sc acroos. turn (29 sc)
Row 11: Rep row 3.
Row 12: ch 1, sc dec in first 2 sc, sc in each of next 25 sc, sc dec in last 2 sc.turn (27 sc)
Row 13: ch 1, sc dec in first 2 sc, sc in each of next 23 sc, sc dec in last 2 sc, turn, (25 sc)
Row 14: Ch 1, sc dec in first 2 sc, sc in each of next 19 sc, leaving rem 4 sc unworked, turn (20 sc)
Row 15: Ch 5, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each of next 3 chs, sc in each of next 19 sc, 2 sc in last sc, turn. (25 sc)
Row 16: ch 1, 2 sc in first sc, sc in each of next 23 sc, 2 sc in last sc, turn (27 sc).
Row 17: Ch 1, 2 sc in first sc, sc in each of next 25 sc, 2 sc in las sc, turn (29 sc).Row 18: Rep row 3
Row 19: ch 1, sc dec in first 2 sc, sc in each of next 27 sc, turn (28 sc)
Row 20: Ch 1, sl st in each of first 9 sc, sc in each of next 17 sc, sc dec in next 2 sc, turn (18 sc).
Row 21: Rep row 3.
Row 22: Ch 1, sc in each of irst 6 sc, leaving rem sc unworked turn (6 sc)
Rows 23-24: Rep row 3.
Row 25: ch 1 sc dec in first 2 sc, sc in each of next 2 sc, sc dec in last 2 sc,
Row 26: Ch 1,sc dec in first 2 sc, sc dec in nextt 2 sc, turn. (2 sc).
Row 27: ch 1, sc in each sc, turn.
Rows 28-54: Rep rows 1-27. at end of last row fasten off.

Finishing:
Step 1: fold piece in half. Beginning at end oarm, with light brown, sew pieces tog alon top of arm, up side ofhead, over ears and down other side of head. Do not fasten off.
Step 2: with light brown, sew small stitches across the ars, from side of head to middle and then across to other ear. Secure end.
Step 3: stuff head firmly with fiberfill, including nose and snout area. Weave a length of light brown around base of neck, do not pull too tight. Do not secure end.

Step4: with light brown yarn end left at end of step 1, continue to sew around arm and legs, stopping at base of 2nd leg where joined to body. Do not fasten off.
Step 5: stuff arm with fiberfill. With brown, sew across arm, securing fiberfill and making shoulder moveable.
Step 6: stuff legs in same manner and sew across tops of legs to secure. fiberfill.
Step 7: with light brown yarn end left at end of step 4, continue to sew around remaining unfilled arm leaving opening for stuffing. Do not fasten off .
Step 8:Stuff arm and sew across end in same manner as first arm.
Step 9:Stuff stomach and close opening. Secure end.
Step 10: tighten yarn around neck. Do not pull too tight. Secure end.
Step 11: With tapestry needle, draw 1 strand of brown through nect a few times, gbring needle out of neck to center front of neck.Insert needle to right of where it came out and guide it up throhg stuffing to where an eye should be, pull yarn all the way through and insert needle back into head where end ey should be guide needle back down to starting point at center front of neck. Before pulling yarn all the way through, squeeze head to make snout protrude further, and at same time, pull tightly on the yarn to form an indentation for the bridge of the nose. Repeat several times and secure end.
Step 12: with black, embroider French knot for eyes and small Straight stitches for nose and mouth.
Scraf:
Row 1 (RS) with aqua, ch 7 sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each rem ch across, turn (6sc)
Row 2: ch 1 working in back lps only, sc in each sc across. turn.
Rows 3-6 Rep row 2.
Row 7: ch1 working through both lps, sc in each sc across. turn
Rows 8-12: rep row 7
Rows 13-18: rep row 2
rows 19-66 (rep rows 7-18 consecutively) 4 times.
Rows 67-72: Rep rows 7-12. at end of last row. fasten off.
Fringe
Cut 20 lengths of acqua each 2 inches long. for each knot of fringe, fold 2 length in half. draw folded end through first st on one short ed of scarf. Draw ends through fold and ighten knot. Tie 4 knots evenly spaced across edge; tie 5 knots across remaing short endge. trim ends even tie around neck.
